About AECBytes
AECbytes is an online publication launched
by Dr. Lachmi Khemlani in Nov 2003. It is
focused on researching, analyzing, and reviewing
technology products and services for the
building industry. Every month, it publishes
various articles including newsletters covering
conferences and shows, reviews of products,
feature articles profiling case studies
of firms and projects that showcase the
use of technology, viewpoint articles featuring
contributions from industry leaders, and
tips and tricks authored by experts in individual
AEC applications. Subscribers receive a
summary of each article by e-mail, along
with a link to the entire online article.

About Lachmi Khemlani
In
addition to being the founder and editor
of AECbytes, Lachmi Khemlani is also the
founder of Arcwiz,
a consulting and training venture in the
area of computer-aided building design.
She has been writing in industry publications
in this field for several years, and has
also authored books on CAD and modeling.
Lachmi has a Ph.D. in Architecture from
UC Berkeley, specializing in intelligent
building modeling. Her other credentials
include a professional B.Arch. (Honors)
degree from the Indian Institute of Technology,
Kharagpur, India, and an M.Phil. in Architecture
from the University of Cambridge, England.
She has worked on numerous design projects
as a practicing architect and taught CAD
and 3D modeling for several years at UC
Berkeley. She gives frequent presentations
before both professional and academic audiences,
serves on juries for technology awards,
and continues to stay closely involved with
the research community, serving on the editorial
board of the journal, Automation
