AECbytes Turns One
This month, AECbytes celebrates its first anniversary. Its inaugural issue was published on December 9, 2003. Since then, the content base has grown to 43 articles published to date, and the subscriber base has grown to over 1700, representing over a 100 countries from around the world. Over 23,000 pages are viewed by AECbytes readers a month.
None of this would have been possible without the continued interest of readers as well as the advertising support from vendors. Many thanks to all of you!
To commemorate its first birthday, AECbytes will, instead of its usual Viewpoint contribution, publish a selection of reader responses and feedback received throughout the year. In the absence of a formal "Letters to the Editor" section, these will serve to showcase what readers think about the publication and the issues that it covers. Watch out for these reader inputs in AECbytes Viewpoint #11 towards the end of the month.
December is Autodesk University month, and I have just returned from the 20th anniversary of this Autodesk user conference that was held in Las Vegas from Nov 29 to Dec 3. The attendance this year was a record 4,400. Read about the conference highlights, product annoucements, and my overall impressions of it in AECbytes Newsletter #16.
Autodesk University also marked the launch of the next release of Autodesk's cutting-edge BIM application, Revit 7, which is reviewed in AECbytes this month.
Last but not the least, wishing you all a very festive holiday season and a wonderful New Year!
Thank you
Lachmi Khemlani
