AECBytes Architecture Engineering Construction Newsletters

The Inaugural Product Review and Inaugural Feature

AECbytes launched its Product Review series in the last week of January by looking at the new release of a critical AEC application, Autodesk Revit 6. This publication is deliberately staying away from the traditional product scorecard and ratings in its reviews, preferring to raise the level of discourse to an indepth analysis of products. Different aspects of products are important to different users, and readers can evaluate the pros and cons of the products from the review and decide for themselves which best serves their needs.

AECbytes also published its second Viewpoint article, authored by Phil Bernstein, VP, Building Solutions Division at Autodesk. Entitled "Going Further: Process Evolution in the Building Industry," this article makes the case for process innovation in the building industry and discusses how the necessary fundamental changes can be effected by moving forward on various fronts.

Hope you didn't miss out on the newsletter debating whether BIM is the best acronym we can find to describe the new model-based building design processes that will replace CAD. Look out also for the upcoming product review of NavisWorks, and the AECbytes inaugural Feature, a case study of the use of technology by the design firm, Gehry Partners.

Special thanks also to all those who have subscribed so far. Please help spread the word. For those who haven't subscribed, please do so. This publication can only succeed with your support.

Thank you
