Introducing the AECbytes Blog: A Forum for Your
Comments
AECbytes is pleased to announce the launch of
the AECbytes
Blog, which has specifically been establised
as a forum for readers to comment on articles
published in AECbytes. Over the years, I have
received a vast amount of feedback from readers,
only some of which I was able to capture in the
annual collections of feedback published in the
Viewpoint series. With the availability of the
blog, readers can share their thoughts, comments,
and questions with a wider audience, which in
turn can generate further discussions and responses
from readers.
Please take some time to contribute your feedback.
Hopefully, this will generate some interesting
and lively discussions! Look for the blog link
at the end of each article to view others' comments
and post your own. (These links are currently
active for the most recent articles and will be
continue to be added for the earlier articles
progressively.)
This month, AECbytes features a product review
of the new version of Adobe Acrobat Professional,
version 8, that was released in November.
This release comes in the midst of several interesting
developments for Adobe, including the recently
announced partnership with the Nemetschek Group,
release of the full PDF specification to the ISO
to make it a formal open standard, and the expansion
of the Acrobat family to include Acrobat Connect,
Adobe's new web conferencing and collaboration
solution based on Macromedia Breeze. The review
explores the general enhancements as well as the
more CAD-specific functionality improvements of
Acrobat 8 Professional.
Also on the agenda for the month is a look at
the increasingly popular virtual world, Second
Life, and its potential to enhance the design
and construction of buildings in the real world.
The Tips and Tricks issue of this month features
two new tutorials, one on creating
walls with NURBS in 3ds Max & VIZ, and
the other on Archicad
10 Project Indexes.
Thank you!
